We are pleased to announce the publication of the ECGA Annual Report 2024, officially launched at the General Assembly in Brussels this month.
Entitled Carbon & Graphite: Rising with Clean Industry, the report highlights how the European carbon and graphite sector is contributing to the EU’s green and digital transitions, industrial competitiveness, and strategic autonomy. It offers an overview of key developments in 2024, including the implementation of the Critical Raw Materials Act, the adoption of the Net-Zero Industry Act, and the new policy framework strengthening Europe’s clean technology industries.
The Annual Report 2024 outlines:
- The sector’s commitment to clean and sustainable production, with a strong focus on circularity, recycling, and innovation;
- ECGA’s engagement in securing strategic graphite supply chains for Europe, through active contributions to EU legislative processes and strategic project initiatives;
- The growing importance of graphite across critical applications, from battery anodes and electric vehicles to renewable energy and semiconductors;
- The need for a fair international level playing field, resilient supply chains, and enhanced industrial investment in Europe.
The report also presents ECGA’s participation in key EU-funded R&D projects, fostering innovation in graphite recycling and advanced material development.
We invite policymakers, industry leaders, and our members to explore the Annual Report 2024 to better understand the strategic role of carbon and graphite materials in supporting Europe’s industrial resilience and climate ambitions.
