The LIFE GRAPhiREC project, in which ECGA is a partner, has been featured on the European Commission’s Innovation Radar platform, highlighting its innovative approach to graphite recycling and its potential contribution to Europe’s circular battery value chain.
The Innovation Radar is a European Commission initiative that identifies and showcases promising innovations emerging from EU-funded research and innovation projects, helping increase their visibility and potential for market uptake.
GRAPhiREC is developing innovative industrial-scale solutions to recover graphite from lithium-ion battery manufacturing scraps and alkaline battery waste, with the aim of reintroducing the recovered material into new battery production.
The project brings together industrial and research partners across the European battery value chain, working towards more sustainable battery production, improved resource efficiency and reduced dependence on imported raw materials.
ECGA’s contribution to GRAPhiREC
As a project partner, ECGA leads communication and dissemination activities and supports the project’s exploitation, replication and transferability.
Through its extensive European industry network, ECGA contributes to identifying potential industrial partners, mapping the graphite supply chain and end markets, and promoting opportunities for the future commercial application of recycled graphite.
